Attention Land Owners: New Laws Require Compliance Certificates for Pools and Spas!
If you own a pool or spa that was built before 1 November 2020, listen up! The recent laws state that you must lodge a compliance certificate by a specific date based on the construction date:
Pools built on or before 30 June 1994: Lodge your certificate by 1 June 2022.
Pools built from 1 July 1994 to 30 April 2010: Lodge your certificate by 1 June 2023.
Pools built from 1 May 2010 to 31 October 2020: Lodge your certificate by 1 June 2024.
But that's not all! If you have a pool or spa constructed after 1 November 2020, you must register it within 30 days of receiving the relevant Occupancy Permit or Certificate of Final Inspection.
Remember, you also need to submit a new certificate of barrier compliance every four years. For specific dates, reach out to your local council.
